THE MAIN INFORMATION OF THE TRAINING COURSE

Summary of the training


The project is designed as three follow-up mobilities which will be held in Greece and Slovakia. These courses are going to help youth workers to strengthen the capacity of their youth work by developing their competences in supporting people and creating innovative programmes and increasing the impact of their programmes and activities on young people.


tHE MAIN OBJECTIVE

The main objective of this project is to strengthen the capacity of organisations working with young people to move towards greater internal stability and sustainability and thus increase the impact of their work on young people.

Specific objectives:

  • Encourage organisations to make effective use of their human resources (both staff and volunteers) and to create an environment for their self-development and personal and professional growth;

  • Introduce organisations to innovative tools they can use for their development.

What you get specific from this training?

In this workshop you will practically learn:

  • how to develop to set up common vision with your team;

  • how to translate this vision into strategic objectives;

  • how to create culture that support the vision;

  • how to create responsibilities and roles necessary for carrying out the common vision.

The programm:

DAY 1: ASSERTIVE COMMUNICATION THAT BUILDS REALATIONSHIPS AND SOLUTIONS

Content:

  • Golden communication principles with customers and partners. Management communication basics;

  • Difference between perception and reality Questions and Active listening. Discover filter of communication partners. Practise listening and giving questions;

  • FISBE: Focus - Inner State – Behaviour: Check your intention: The empowerment dynamics from victimhood to cocreation. Learning new approaches;

  • Presentation of the topic, project or opinion to working group. How to increase our influence on self and others. Real life role play.

DAY 2: COORPERATION

Content:

  • Return on investment. Selling own progress and putting training into practice;

  • How to give feedback to support progress (OSCAR methodology);

  • Change: how to sell change and handle partners emotional reactions. How to increase our own flexibility. Real life role play;

  • How to sell change in persuasive way so that we motivate into action. Real life role play;

  • Persuasive communication;

  • Key competence matrix. Balancing key quality and the trap.

DAY 3: FROM EXPERT GROUP TO COLLABORATIVE TEAMS

Content:

  • Return on investment. Selling own progress and putting training into practice;

  • How to delegate to increase motivation, performance and support growth (What do you propose as an life attitude to colleagues)

  • Skill/will matrix;

  • Deep listening and quality of questions;

  • Situational leadership – how to adapt my leadership style based on the maturity level of my colleague.

DAY 4: FROM EMOTIONS INTO RATIONAL SOLUTIONS

Content:

  • Return on investment. Selling own progress and putting training into practice;

  • Review session / how to lead evolution session on a project;

  • Stress control and self-control: mechanism how to better control spontaneous reactions. Spot drama triangle and make a choice;

  • Dealing with objections;

  • Dealing with complaints.

DAY 5: PRIORITIES AND LONG TERM STABILITY

Content:

  • Return on investment. Selling own progress and putting training into practice;

  • Fixation of concrete and real goals;

  • Mistake recognition: how to handle sensitive situations;

  • Project presentation;

  • Setting team and individual priorities. Purpose and goals;

  • Review session / how to lead evolution sessnion.

DAY 6: TEAM EVOLUTION

Content:

  • Return on investment. Selling own progress and putting training into practice;

  • Project presentation;

  • How to lead meetings and align for goals.

PARTICIPATION

Who can participate?

Youth workers

Each training will be open to three youth workers from each participating organisation. Preference is given to leaders and managers, but it is important that a team member attends in addition to the leader. The selection of these participants will be the responsibility of the individual organisations. Also important is the motivation of the participants to learn and use new practices for the development of the organisation.

The communication language will be English, so at least a basic knowledge of this language will be required. The age of the participants should be 18+. And It is not necessary that the same participants attend all meeting sessions!


By applying to this course, participants commit themselves to actively participate in the whole process, including:

  • reading all the information carefully,

  • communicating timely with the organisers,

  • preparing adequately for the training course,

  • taking actively part in the full duration of the activities,

  • to participate in the evaluation process after the course,

  • to participate in sharing the results and outcomes of the training after the training is over.

Travel Costs

Air tickets and tickets to the venue are provided by the partner organizations independently, our organisation will then reimburse the cost of their purchase. Participants will receive information about the venue and how to get to the venue well in advance.

To receive reimbursement of travel expenses (plane/bus/train) we need you to deliver us following documents:

  • Invoice of your flight tickets, originals of bus or train tickets (invoice received from the airline/bus company if you buy the tickets online or from the travelling agency if you buy the tickets via an agency);

  • Boarding pass (from both ways).


*Please note that that travel costs will be reimbursed only for those who:

  • stay for the whole period of the training (travel days are 4th of July and 10th of July, 2022);

  • who fill the final report after the training is over;

  • actively participate in sharing the results and outcomes of the training after the training is over.

ORGANISATIONAL DETAILS

Food:

Beakfast, lunch, dinner and coffee breaks are all included. Also individual eating habits of participants will be taken into account, but don't be afraid to try Slovak traditionals!

Accommodation:

The project will take place in the village Zuberec, what is located in northern Slovakia and is a popular tourist center at the foothills of the Western Tatras. Village is named after the European bison (Slovak: Zubor), an animal that used to be abundant in the region at the time of the foundation of the village.


Participants are very welcomed to stay during the project in the Hotel Ubytovňa Zuberec. Accommodation will held in the gateway to the Roháče Mountains.

How to arrive?

First of all you need to arrive on 4th of July, but depart on 10th of July. And we recommend two options:

1st opt. Krakow - Dolný Kubín

  1. Take a flight to Krakow;

  2. From Krakow bus station take a bus to Dolný Kubín;

As you exit the Krakow's airport you need to get to Krakow Main Bus station. And on the stations upper floor you can take Flix Bus to Dolný Kubín.

  1. Take a bus from Dolný Kubín to Zuberec.

*Mostly there are no direct connection to Dolný Kubín, so you need to change in Nižná "Malá Orava".

  1. Take a flight to Krakow;

  2. From Krakow bus station take a bus to Ružomberok;
